The eighth grade girls have started the season with a record of 3-0. The team played Carl Junction on December 1 and came out with a win. Coach Rumfelt says, “The team has been working very hard and has started off the season with some great wins.”

The girls have the Central Ozarks Conference tournament right before Christmas break. “We are likely to see Republic and maybe Nixa. When we come back from break we will be in the toughest part of our schedule playing Nixa, Republic, and Willard. If the girls continue to work hard and play the way they have been it should be a fun season,” adds Coach Rumfelt.

Morgan Labarge, a ninth grader, played her first high school basketball game December 5. Although the Lady Tigers left with a loss they fought hard ending the game 38-40 against Glendale.

“I have been playing basketball since first grade and I enjoy basketball because I love the adrenaline and the contact that is involved in the sport,” explains Labarge.

As a team Labarge said that everybody played to their best ability, but may have been a little nervous and rushed the game a bit with it being their first game of the season.

“Personaly I think that I did good, but I can always do better. The highlight play was when Hannah passed the ball to keep it from going out of bounds and Lexi caught it and shot to made a basket.”

The team’s next home game will be on January 8.
