To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was released August 17 2018. The movie was based on the book To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. The book was part of a trilogy all written by Han. The other two books in the trilogy are, P.S I Still Love You and Always and Forever, Lara Jean.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is a cute, humorous, heart-warming story of a teenage Lara Jean. Lara Jean is a girl who falls in love easily and winds up fake dating Peter Kavinsky, the most popular boy in their school. This plan went into action when he received a letter she had written about him awhile back, that he wasn’t supposed to receive. She wants to get over her sister’s ex-boyfriend so she agreed to the deal. You quickly find out that despite their many plans and strict rules that Lara Jean and Peter will find a love interest in each other. This movie is sure to tug on your heart strings in many different scenes. We see them both connect over their respective missing parents (her mother passed away and his dad walked out) and many bumps and bruises in their “relationship” along the way.

There were so many amazing scenes in this movie, but I definitely have a favorite one. My all time favorite scene in this movie was when Lara Jean and Peter first entered the cafeteria. In one of Lara Jean’s favorite movies, one of the main characters puts his hand in the girls back pocket while they’re walking. So that was exactly how they entered the cafeteria, but what made the scene even better was when he grabbed the top of her pocket and spun her around to face him. It was such a cute scene and I really enjoyed it.

My favorite character in the movie would have to be Lara Jean. She is pretty, kind and lots of teenage girls can relate to the things she does or says. One of my favorite things about this character is that she is played by an Asian-American actress Lana Condor. Most of the time you do not see an Asian-American playing a lead roll in a movie so it was great to see a Asian-American women playing one. Lana Condor did a great job portraying the role of Lara Jean because she really made the scenes look natural and not forced in any way.

The movie was rated TV-14, and I think that was a good rating because there were some scenes that had some language, but nothing a 14-year old wouldn’t be able to handle.

The IMDb rated this movie as a 7.4 out of 10 stars. I personally would rate this movie as an 10 out of 10 stars. It was overall just a great movie. I believe that this was a very good movie overall and would totally recommend it to all who love romantic comedies.
